The One City Historical Foundation seeks to promote understanding of the establishment and early history of the city of Newport News by collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting that history and its relationship to the former Warwick County, the region and the nation beyond to audiences of all ages and interests.

The history of a community contributes to its personality, and preserving the history of a place through its significant historic resources and the stories therein gives a community its unique character. It provides a link to the roots of the community and its people. Our organization, founded as a means to support The Harwood House in Newport News, is committed to telling the story of our community and enhancing its preservation. |
